A Yellow Arch Studios Musical Wedding
Jeremy and Caroline’s wedding in the summer was my first visit to Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield. They first met at the venue several years before and, as two live music lovers, being able to hold their wedding party there seemed like fate.
Yellow Arch Studios is a Victorian factory complex situated in Neepsend (just across the river from Kelham Island), Sheffield – the regenerated heartland of the steel city. It’s been open as a recording studio and performance venue since 1997. It’s affectionately known as the birthplace of the Arctic Monkeys, given their first album was recorded there, but has seen the likes of Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker and Kylie Minogue through its arch over the years! As a music-lover, you could not ask for a better Sheffield wedding venue.
I met Jeremy and Caroline a few weeks before their wedding for an engagement photo shoot in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. We discovered a bush of cut roses that both Caroline and I were convinced Jeremy had pre-arranged – he hadn’t, it was an actual coincidence. They were a great couple to work with, up for fun, and have been featured in a few of my engagement shoot posts since!
The couple held their ceremony at the Roman-styled Our Lady & St Thomas RC Church in Woodseats, Sheffield before heading down to Yellow Arch Studios for their reception, delicious food and the evening entertainment provided by band, The Swing Town Cats. We even managed our couple photos in the music practice room, WareHouse Antiques centre, and outside in the neon-lit streets of Kelham Island and Neepsend.
