Urban, Unconventional Wedding at The Baltic, Liverpool

Hey there! Let me tell you, Tash and Tony's urban bash at The Baltic was the stuff of Liverpool legend. Ten years of love and mischief all bundled up into a two-day fiesta that was more electric than The Beatles' first gig! I got the awesome privilege to capture all the candid shots – none of those stuffy, posed moments here – just pure, unfiltered joy and a couple of lovebirds soaring higher than the Liver Birds on their big day. Alright, enough nattering from me – let's dive into the magic of this wildly wonderful wedding!

Oh, The Baltic Hotel – what a cracker of a venue! Nestled right in the heart of the creative quarter, it's not your usual stuffy room with swirly carpets (sorry, Nan!). This place is bursting with character; it's like the cool kid of wedding venues, if you know what I mean. Exposed brick walls that tell tales as old as time, contemporary art that gets your noggin' thinking, and those stunning windows allowing the Liverpool light to work its magic – hands down, it's a photographer's dream! Can you picture Tash, glowing in the soft afternoon sun, or Tony sharing a laugh with the lads, their silhouettes framed just so against the industrial chic backdrop? Ah, it’s the kind of place where even the walls whisper, "This is where you party!". And then there's the surroundings. The Baltic Triangle, the creative heart of Liverpool. Here in the Triangle, we've got more street art than you could shake a can of spray paint at – it's like the walls are just begging to be Instagrammed. So, what did we do? We went and photographed them of course, complete with our newlyweds, a beer and a gin and tonic (for them - not me).

Dive into this creative candid shot of a bride and groom, captured through a moving bus at their Baltic Hotel wedding in Liverpool. A true blend of love and art!

The weekend began on Friday with a quiet, intimate legal ceremony at St George's Hall Register Office. (Why, you ask, would you have a separate legal ceremony? Well, Tash is a celebrant herself, so you can guarantee the 'signing of the paperwork' wasn't going to be a key feature of the celebration.) We had a bit of fun with group photos, the columns of St George's Hall and a bus, before we parted ways for Tash, Tony and their parents to enjoy their afternoon, while I explored the sights of Liverpool - soaking in the atmosphere to use in earnest for their Saturday party.

And what a party it was! The colourful Baltic Hotel in the Baltic Triangle was the place to be. Tash and Tony got ready separately, although the amazing videographer, Georgia (Electric Reel), and I managed to hop around the hotel and capture both the bride and groom, whilst still managing to laugh and joke with the hair and makeup artists, snap some photos in the bar and have a good scout out of the venue and secret back route.

Tom Guest, a humanist celebrant, led the ceremony, which was packed full of laughs, audience participation and no shortage of sentimentality. They passed a heartbeat, tied the knot (literally) and read hand-crafted vows, before sharing a kiss and parading out into the streets to a moving conga line of confetti madness.

The newlyweds were then whisked away for a sweet escape and some fun portraits around the Triangle, while guests enjoyed drinks at the hotel's bar. And let me tell you, those portraits were nothing short of spectacular! The lighting was perfect, the scenery was on point - and yes, we even ended up in a skate park.

Experience this cool, candid shot of a bride and groom chilling in a skate park, a unique twist to their Baltic Hotel wedding in Liverpool. Who said you can't mix love with a little bit of edge?

We returned before anyone realised we were missing, ate burgers, had heartfelt speeches, before the dancing began and refused to stop - breaking only for a handful of sunset photos in front the Baltic.

To sum it up, that was a wedding to remember - full of love, laughter, and pure personalised joy. I couldn't have been happier to capture such a special day for Tash and Tony, and I wish them nothing but the best as they begin their journey together as newlyweds, and I cannot wait to get back to Liverpool again for more!
